Biscotte mini toasts aim for a slice of the canapé market
The hottest day of the year seems like the perfect time to add our first Christmas themed item! It is always a busy time for foodservice operators but Brioche Pasquier hope to make preparing festive party menus a little easier with their new biscotte Mini Toasts.
Made from biscotte – or ‘twice baked’ French bread – the bite-size toasts are a healthy, low fat alternative to crackers and offer a crisp, appetising taste. They are a great base for seasonal canapés.
Whether it’s traditional flavour combinations such as rare roast beef and creamy horseradish, smoked salmon and crème fraîche or sliced avocado and king prawn; more contemporary toppings like goat cheese and fig jam, buffalo mozzarella with sliced beef tomato and a fresh basil leaf; or even a middle eastern inspired smooth hummus and falafel; outlets can showcase their culinary creativity and present a wide array of toppings – a great way of adding flair to the festivities.
As well as being used as canapés they can also be served as part of a classic starter such as chicken liver parfait served with a sticky onion relish; or alongside Farmhouse Cheddar and a selection of pickles as part of a cheeseboard to finish a meal.
Each Mini Toast measures 4cm x 4cm – a practical size for creating an appetising display of tempting canapés. They are free from preservatives and have a long shelf life of 12 months.
