Pidy announce Christmas pastry range
Another Christmas based news item has hit our desk, this time from ready–to–fill pastry producer Pidy. In what they are calling a homage to the vol-au-vent, they have launched a new festive range with the 70’s puff-pastry based staple at its core.
Pidy’s new festive range features both a traditional Christmas tree and conventional reindeer design. The ambient products are ready-to-fill and come in catering packs of 54 pieces, making them ideal for pre-dinner canapes at parties or as an addition to a festive themed sharing platter, o on a seasonal starter, main or dessert menu.
The festive products form part of Pidy’s neutral range meaning they are equally suited for both savoury and sweet, hot and cold fillings. With retro food seeing somewhat of a comeback on menus up and down the country, Pidy believe vol-au-vents are set to be a big hit this year.
Alongside their retro revolution, Pidy have included a traditional element in their seasonal range. Straight sided 6cm sweet tellines, which they say make the perfect carrier for mincemeat, and a homemade sweet shortcrust pastry star to make mince pies with a wonderful bite and authentic, flavour.
With successful festive menus creating repeat business for the rest of the year, adding a festive vol-au-vent range or delicious homemade mince pies can open the door for seasonal variety throughout the year.
