Gain insight to grow sales from Westons Cider Report
Cider sales hit £1.8 billion last year with demand for premium products increasing. These are just some of the findings in a new report from Westons Cider that identifies opportunities for licensees and suggests ways to drive growth in Cider sales.
Developed over six months, the report draws together and interprets a wealth of research and market data from organisations including on-trade specialists CGA Strategy. Its aim is to help on and off-trade retailers and suppliers understand more about the cider category and its consumers, enabling them to respond more effectively to consumer demand, which will in turn grow their revenues.
It begins by identifying and profiling six different types of cider consumer, based on their motivation and drinking occasions for cider and their level of category engagement. It then offers licensees a range of recommendations including suggested styles of cider to stock on the bar depending on the type of venue; what to stock in the fridge; and advice on planning a successful cider festival.
Jackie Whibley, Westons’ insight manager, says: “We are delighted to be launching Westons’ first ever Cider Report, which is also an industry first. The report uses an abundance of new market data to give an objective, impartial and comprehensive review of the performance of the UK cider market, to inform readers about the cider market and the needs of cider drinkers both now and in the future.”
